Restless

Hello All! We have had a beautiful Fall week and and even better weekend. Ben and I hadn't spent time together just going out and doing something different and fun for awhile so this weekend we spent the day at a pumpkin patch, walking on a peaceful path and then going to an awesome burger joint.
Here are just a few pictures from the day.

Click on this picture to make it bigger...the MN license plate is right at the top...duh, of course it would be!

There were also really yummy apples, which of course we thought were free.

As we later found out, they were the "forbidden" fruit:)! Long story...:)

Then we headed to Bellingham, to go for a walk. We saw the biggest leaves we had ever seen.

Just a few more of my favorites from the pumpkin patch.

This just looked like the "perfect little pumpkin" sitting there all by itself!

Now to explain the title of this post. Have you ever felt restless in life, like you have prayed in every way and with all the words you can think of to use? Have you ever really chased after the meaning of what it truly means to completely rest in the Lord? Well, that is exactly what I have been trying to figure out this week. One reason God amazes me so much is because just when you think you are starting to have it all figured out, that you are growing in His knowledge rapidly, He will start you new, to mold you in a different way, to help you begin to learn even more about His insane love. I am really trying to learn what it truly means to rest in Him, to have a true, pure joy that only comes when we become completely submitted to Him.
I heard this song and absolutely fell in love with it and the words. (And I really like Audrey Assad, the artist:) ) Keep scrolling down to listen to the song!
"During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission." Hebrews 5:7

I Love Fall!

I love Fall, not just because the colors are gorgeous or that you can start to cozy up in sweaters. I also enjoy it because there are so many fun things to make this time of year. I spent the day in the kitchen today...which was so relaxing! Ben was feeling bad I was in the kitchen all day, but I loved it! Ben loves Fall for all the same reasons I do, he especially loves when I am cooking things with apples because the house just fills up with that amazing scent! So, today I made homemade cider. These pictures are in the midst of the process! Mmmmmm, you can almost smell it just by looking at the steam rising from the pot!

I also made some yummy caramel popcorn, thanks to the scrumptious Thorp recipe!

Don't stop reading here! I posted two blogs tonight!

"He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20-21

Nothing new here. Just wanted to put up a few new pictures that I took with MY NEW CAMERA!!!! I am so excited to use it more. I have only been around my neighborhood, so nothing new you haven't seen before, it is just fun using MY NEW CAMERA!

"We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:41-43

My View

I am home alone tonight because Benny gets to help spot at a really great football game! He was excited! So my night is consisting of a movie, cheetos, ice cream and a diet dr.pepper caffeine free! Just a few little details!

So, the point of my blog...My View.

I was walking toward our front door, and out the window, MY VIEW, looked beautiful (in my eyes)! So I walked outside and there was just something about the way the sun was setting, the light it was putting on the houses and street, the clouds over the mountains, the leaves beginning to change and the stillness that made me truly in awe of God. My mind went straight to the amazing story of God making the sun stand still. That story was so fresh in my mind because my friend Jenny(Weird thing-I had just gotten off the phone with Jenny before I looked outside) had just told me that her pastor was writing a book about Joshua's fervent prayer that God would make the sun stand still. God listened and made it happen. I believe the book is about why, we as Christ followers, don't believe in praying those types of prayers and truly believing God could make it happen. So when I saw MY VIEW, I couldn't help but think what if God made the sun stand still right now. His beauty would have to be known by everyone!

Now, my pictures won't do it justice(maybe if I had a better camera) and I know there are probably a million better pictures I have taken of the mountains and YOU may not think it is beautiful at all. But I do:) For some reason tonight, MY VIEW, looked unbelievable. God made me see that beauty so I could be reminded of Him and His pure and beautiful love. OK, I will get off my soapbox...see this is what happens when Ben leaves me alone! P.S.You have to look closely for the mountains, they are pretty cloud covered.

"On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD in the presence of Israel: "O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon." So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a man. Surely the LORD was fighting for Israel!"

Big Weekend!

We had another great weekend in Washington! It was a "big" weekend because we had two "big" things going on! The first was that Chris and Steph came to visit us! We were so excited to have family here with us! This was their first time in WA which made it even more fun! We were busy their entire trip here. We ate yummy food, Steph worked on my "hard"(or so I thought) puzzle, watched football, and Chris grilled on our huge grill. It was a short weekend filled with showing them the most beautiful sights of the area!
We headed up to Mt. Baker, to Artist Point and some new amazing views!

We had a windy picnic!

We saw some beautiful wildflowers on our way down from Artist Point. You can go to these areas and pick wild blueberries!

We also stopped at the Nooksack Falls.

The thing that kept us most busy was cheering Ben on in the Bellingham Bay Marathon on Sunday morning! Ben did amazing! I was and am so proud of him for all the training he did and how strong he was during the race. He got tired the last 4 miles of the race (which is called "the wall" of the marathon) but other than that I think he was really pleased with it. We were able to cheer Ben on 8 times throughout the race, it was so much fun! It rained the entire time but that didn't slow Benny down! Steph took a lot of pictures at the marathon because I was too busy cheering, so I will post more when I get those:) Thanks Stephanie!
We picked up one of our pastors/friends who was running the race too.

Chris even jumped in for a few miles!

It was a great weekend, in which we were sad and excited to see go by. We were excited because Ben had finished the marathon but we were sad to say bye to Chris and Steph. We ate a lot of yummy food and enjoyed a lot of laughs! They were such troopers during the marathon! Ben is one lucky guy!
We love you and miss you all! Happy Fall! Fall is the Wetzell's favorite season!
"What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" Romans 8:31-32
