I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Just like the ones I used to know...

Can you tell I love Christmas music since I have began my last two posts using Christmas songs! But, seriously do I really need to be dreaming of a white Christmas, because in T-Minus 5 days we will be landing in snow paradise. Now, don't get me wrong I have been enjoying our 40 degree weather with no snow, but can you most of you agree that it just wouldn't feel like Christmas with that kind of weather (Jenny, I know you can agree:) ) I am used to freezing my little tooshy off and usually whining about it, but I do miss it just a little this time of year!

Anywho, just wanted to put up a few pictures of some Christmas cookies I made. For the past few years my sisters, mom and I had been doing a cookie exchange. I was so sad not to be doing it this year so I decided to do a few of my own. That is just too great of a memory for me to not continue this year even if I am doing it by myself! I still remember being a little peanut with Trisha, Emily and Jacob, sitting at the counter helping mom frost and decorate cookies. While she probably was getting mad at us for eating the frosting and licking our fingers, and dad, well he was probably downstairs watching the Gophers or shoveling snow!

Ben didn't seem to have those same memories, he said he always just ate them and never did anything! ;) He finally decided he wanted to help, I was so excited! He picked up the rolling pin, rolled them out, cut them out and that was that! Thanks Ben...

And my mom's famous peanut butter cups! Along with some yummy ritz, pb and almond bark treats!

Now, just a few more decorations!

The cutest little nativity scene ever!

Well, I will try to blog one more time before we fly out Thursday morning. If not, then I will SEE a lot of you very soon! We can't wait to feel our nose hairs freeze when we walk off that plane! Love you all!
Have a beautiful and joyous Merry Christmas!
P.S. Sidenote here, but I washed my phone in the washing machine last night, (yes Melissa, I know you aren't supposed to do that), so I had to get a new one today. The salesman helping me told me to have a Merry Christmas, I about leapt at him to give him a bear hug, but I restrained myself, just smiled and told him thank you for saying Merry CHRISTmas!

"But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:10-14

  1. Gross! Nose hairs. Icky.

Here's hoping we all have a white Christmas, even in balmy 40-degree Washington. If not, maybe you could bring some of the white stuff back with you.

Have a great trip. The Terps will miss you. Hurry back.

  2. I cracked up at the nose hairs comment -- I totally know what you're talking about (and have definitely not experienced that living in FL!)

Your holiday decorations are so warm and inviting -- you know how to make a house a home! I love the Christmas bulbs and the lighting and tones... gorgeous!

Your cookies look delicious -- Ben did a great job of rolling/cutting too!

  4. Love it! Only had a few frozen nose hairs this year. Trying to stay inside : )
We are SUPER excited for you to come home. BEAUTIFUL cookies! How come they never looked like that when we did them. I wish you could bring them home, but they might not look the same after the plane ride. Some day we will bake again...together!
See you soon. Em and the girls
